Stage 5 is the queen stage of the Balor Multisport Race, a grueling 117 km cycle with 1440m of elevation gain, from TA2 in Dunlewey to TA3 at Wild Atlantic Camp in Creeslough. This non-drafting stage requires competitors to ride solo, tackling exposed and demanding roads that wind along the rugged coastline.
The route will lead you through some of the most scenic yet challenging areas of Northwest Donegal, including the stunning Knockalla, the Fanad Peninsula, crossing the Harry Blaney Bridge, and navigating the Atlantic Drive, before passing the historic Doe Castle. With coastal winds, rolling hills, and tough road surfaces, this stage will push competitors to their limits, requiring both mental resilience and physical endurance deep into the race. Both road bikes and time trial bikes are suitable for this stage, allowing participants to choose the bike that best suits their riding style and strategy.
